Artillery battery
Artillery batteries (砲台 Hōdai) are weapons that appear in Episode 3 of Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon: Remake. They were installed at strategic locations around the excavation site by the Empire.[1] When Kyle Fluge and his dragon approach them, the artillery batteries will fire a barrage of projectiles at them.
Near the end of the episode, there is a circular arrangement of artillery batteries, which are equipped with more powerful ammunition than the others. These are for taking down any pure-type creatures that may appear.[1]

Bright orange artillery batteries in the original Panzer Dragoon.
In the original Sega Saturn version of Panzer Dragoon, the artillery batteries are a bright orange color. In the PC version, including the version that is unlockable in Panzer Dragoon Orta, and also the PlayStation 2 version, they are a darker orange color. In Panzer Dragoon: Remake, the artillery batteries are no longer orange, but are brown instead.
