Basic Wing

The Basic Wing was the first form that Edge's dragon appeared as in Panzer Dragoon Saga. Although the game does not confirm whether Edge’s dragon had appeared in any earlier forms, the name Basic Wing implies that this dragon form formed the base for later forms to come.

Unlike most of the other forms that Edge’s dragon transformed into, the Basic Wing could not morph into attack, defense, spiritual, and agility classes; it only had one “normal” class. The Basic Wing also had limited berserk abilities, lacking the capability to use berserks such as Agility Wing that require additional classes.

When fighting a gigra in the caves below the Garil Desert, the dragon shed his Basic Wing form and transformed into the Valiant Wing. The Basic Wing was exclusive to Panzer Dragoon Saga so was not present in any subsequent games in the series.

Appearance

The dragon's Basic Wing form is red with yellow wings and underside. It features a long white horn and armored face in a similar arrangement to that of the Blue Dragon. The dragon's tail is fish-like with a yellow fin. Unlike the other forms of Edge's dragon, the Basic Wing's wings are closer to its tail and the legs are closer to its head.
