The Dragon's Heir
The dragon had left an heir, a baby dragon that can seen walking together with Orta in the final post-credits scene in Panzer Dragoon Orta. Their destination is not revealed; it is possible that Smilebit had this planned for a future Panzer Dragoon sequel. How the young dragon was born is not revealed in Panzer Dragoon Orta, although the non-canonical Japanese Panzer Dragoon Orta novel Kaze to Akatsuki no Musume states that the dragon was born from a coolia in a nearby village (similar to Lagi’s birth).
Panzer Dragoon Orta’s Pandora’s Box contains a sub scenario featuring the dragon pup (Sub Scenario Mission 4). When the mission is achieved, the Sestren system states that gene base code 12 confirmed, the same code that was required for the previous dragon and Orta to enter Sestren. While fans have speculated that the dragon's heir may simply have been another incarnation of the dragon, either the program or the same soul, the Japanese version of Panzer Dragoon Orta states that this was the end of the dragon's journey. Direct translation of Panzer Dragoon Orta's epilogue:
"I, too, could be entrusted to the earth. The proof of my life.
Thus ended my journey.
And now the journey of her and her child begins.
Towards the dawn of a new era..."
