Golia - Die Welt von Panzer Dragoon Zwei pg 74

Golia, also known as Hanuman (ハヌマン Hanuman?) in the Japanese version, are pure-type creatures found in three Panzer Dragoon games. One appears in the Destiny Begins prologue in the ruins of Elpis and one serves as the boss of Episode 3 of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei. Two types of golia also appear as enemies in the Forest of Zoah in Panzer Dragoon Saga. A golia also appears as a boss in Panzer Dragoon Mini.

Description[]

Golia are predators of the forest.[1] Die Welt von Panzer Dragoon Zwei remarks that golias’ level of mobility does not match their construction, alluding to their Ancient Age design. Golia are approximately 70 meters in length, 40 meters in width, and 40 meters in height.[2]

Golia appear to have some kind of symbiotic relationship with the qou-pa. Golia are frequently seen using them as transportation.[3]

Golia Hunter and Golia Tracker

Golia appear in the Destiny Begins prologue, as well as Episode 3, of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei.

Golia Hunter and Golia Tracker (a golia being transported by a qou-pa) are enemies encountered in the Forest of Zoah in Panzer Dragoon Saga. They can be encountered after defeating the Infested Grig Orig. Also in Panzer Dragoon Saga, the player can obtain a book called Dragon Book 2 (Diary of the Dragon Rider - 2) at Abner's house. It is a diary written by Jean Jacque Lundi. Lundi described the golia in the forest as "the creature I saw feasting on the charred corpses in my village".[4]

A golia is a boss fought in Stage 4 of Panzer Dragoon Mini.

Name origin[]

Hanuman, which is what the golia is called in the Japanese versions of the games, is named after Hanuman, a Hindu monkey god who is the companion to the god Rama.
