The Great Fall was an event caused by the destruction of Sestren and deactivation of the Towers. In the decade following Sestren's demise, the Continent's climate and topography changed radically. Maps had to be constantly redrawn by cartographers to keep up with the ever-changing landscape. The polar regions melted and earthquakes created vast canyons.[1]
The human population of the Continent was reduced to less than half of its size. Historians have generally considered the Great Fall to be greatest turmoil since the Ancient Age.
The Empire blamed Black Fleet commander K. F. Craymen for causing the Great Fall.
