Guard robot

Guard robots (ガードロボット Gādorobotto?) are pure-type creatures that will attack anything that enters the ruins where they reside. The first guard robot that appears in Panzer Dragoon and its remake is the creature that chased after Kyle Fluge in the opening cutscene.[1] Later, two different types of guard robots appear in Episode 4. The two types vary slightly in appearance, but they do not have any different abilities from each other. The guard robots possess laser sight. Once they encounter an enemy, they will not let it escape.[1]

There are similar creatures that appear in a few of the cutscenes in Panzer Dragoon Saga that are possibly another guard robot variant or a related species.

The design of a guard robot from Episode 4 of Panzer Dragoon: Remake.

Guard robots, like most pure-type creatures, have a hard, white shell covering most of their bodies. They typically have two limbs and multiple eyes. In Panzer Dragoon: Remake, the eyes of the guard robot in the opening cutscene glow green. In the original game, the creature's eyes did not glow.

In Panzer Dragoon: Remake, the guard robots in Episode 4 have a completely different appearance. This version has three armored limbs, a vertical body, and multiple blue spots that may be eyes.

The pure-type creatures that appear in some of Panzer Dragoon Saga's cutscenes may possibly be a guard robot variant or a related species. One of these creatures appears in the opening cutscene when the mercenaries are in the excavation site. Shortly afterwards, Edge gets surrounded by them in the bottom floor of the ruins and is then rescued by the dragon. At the end of Disc 3, a creature drops from the ceiling after Azel activated the Tower. The creature proceeded to kill the Emperor, an Imperial soldier, and then Craymen.

These creatures are similar to the guard robot from the opening cutscene of Panzer Dragoon, but there is also some differences. They have a single glowing red eye, four limbs, and extendible blade-like claws on their front limbs.
