Haruto Watanabe, commonly known as Wildman, is the founder of Wildman, Inc and creator of Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record. He is a fan of the Panzer Dragoon series[2] and a member of Mensa, a high IQ organisation.[3]
Watanabe previously created a dragon riding VR tech demo called The Gunner of Dragoon.[4]
In May 2020, Watanabe was interviewed by 4Gamer about the origin of Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record.[5]. Initially, Haruto Watanabe contacted Sega to request for the Blue Dragon to be added to The Gunner of Dragoon and Sega encouraged him to get an official license for a Panzer Dragoon game instead.
Haruto Watanabe stated that his goal with the Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record project is to continue the Panzer Dragoon series based on how well the game performs.
On October 4, 2021, the Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record Twitter account announced that Watanabe passed away and that Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record was cancelled. However, the tweets were deleted and Watanabe's friends confirmed that he is still alive.[6] This left the future of the game uncertain.[7] On April 4, 2022, Watanabe confirmed that the Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record Twitter account was compromised on the date that the announcement was made.[8]
