Panzer Dragoon Mini is a Game Gear game exclusively released to Japan in 1996. It is a spin-off to the main Panzer Dragoon video game series. The game has simple 8-bit rail shooter gameplay, cartoon-like visuals (rather than the traditional Panzer Dragoon style), and enemy designs and background tunes borrowed from the original Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei. It features no storyline.
Panzer Dragoon creator Yukio Futatsugi had no involvement with Panzer Dragoon Mini besides approving the packaging; other aspects of the game’s development were handled by Sega of America.[1]
One version of Panzer Dragoon Mini was released, the NTSC-J version.
Panzer Dragoon Mini is a rare game; it presumably had a short production run. The Game Gear handheld was renamed the “Kid’s Gear” in Japan by this time, which explains those words on the box. While the game is exclusive to Japan, it can still play on a non-Japanese Game Gear
